Introduction

ShipStation Integration

ShipStation Integration

ShipStation is a shipping and order fulfillment app that helps you manage your orders and shipments in one place. By integrating Order Editing with ShipStation, you can allow your customers to make changes to their orders after purchase, and prevent shipping labels from being purchased for outdated fulfillment requests or packing lists. Here's how to integrate Order Editing with ShipStation:

Step 1: Install Order Editing

To get started, you'll need to install Order Editing on your Shopify store. You can find the app in the Shopify App Store. Once you've installed the app, you'll need to configure it to your store's specifications. Make sure to enable all of the features you want to use, such as shipping address changes, product switches, and order insurance.

Step 2: Connect ShipStation

Next, connect your ShipStation account to your Shopify store. This will allow you to view and manage your orders from within ShipStation. To do this, go to the Integrations tab in your ShipStation account and select Shopify. Follow the prompts to connect your Shopify store to ShipStation.

Step 3: Enable Order Editing in ShipStation

Once you've connected ShipStation to your Shopify store, you'll need to enable Order Editing in ShipStation. To do this, go to the Settings tab in ShipStation and select "Shipping". Under "Post-shipment updates", select "Order Editing" and click "Save".

Step 4: Test Order Editing in ShipStation

To test Order Editing in ShipStation, create a test order in your Shopify store and import it into ShipStation. Then, use Order Editing to make changes to the order, such as updating the shipping address or adding a product. Once you've made the changes, go back to ShipStation and confirm that the changes have been updated in the order details.

Step 5: Generate Shipping Labels

After you've confirmed that Order Editing is working correctly in ShipStation, you can generate shipping labels as usual. Keep in mind that ShipStation only allows you to buy labels using the existing data on your Shopify store, so you'll need to make sure that any changes made through Order Editing are reflected in the order details before generating a shipping label.

By following these steps, you can integrate Order Editing with ShipStation and allow your customers to make changes to their orders after purchase. This will help to reduce costs and prevent shipping labels from being purchased for outdated fulfillment requests or packing lists. Good luck!
