Order Editing offers the ability for customers to change their shipping method which can further generate new revenue as customers pay for faster delivery. Shipping rates are loaded from your Shopify checkout settings, these might be flat-rate or carrier calculated, depending on how you have set-up your shipping options.

This feature is particularly beneficial for storefronts that offer in-store pick up options, customers can self-service upgrade to shipping if plans have changed.

Any purchased shipping upgrade from the customer will be added to their Shopify order as a digital product. You will need to manually ensure that the customers order ships via the updated method. Shopify does not allow in-line changing of shipping methods on orders.

Shopify will notify the customer that their order has upgraded shipping when you attach a tracking number to the fulfilled order.
