Apparel21
Apparel21 is an ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system that does not read live edits. Orders must be finalized before Apparel21 downloads them.
Integration method required: Delayed Payment Capture Flow
Important: Apparel21 has significant limitations with Order Editing. Only basic features are supported.
How Apparel21 Downloads Orders
Apparel21 downloads orders when the payment status is "Paid" in Shopify.
How the Integration Works
Order created → Payment authorized (status: "Authorized")
Grace period active → Customer can edit limited features only
Apparel21 does not download → Order not visible (not "Paid" yet)
Grace period ends → Payment captured, status updates to "Paid"
Apparel21 downloads order → Order sent with supported edits included
Setup Instructions
Step 1: Change Payment Capture Setting
Go to Shopify Admin > Settings > Payments
Change Payment capture method to Automatically after fulfillment
Click Save
Step 2: Import Delayed Master Flow
Download DELAYED_Order Editing_Master Flow.flow
Navigate to Shopify Admin > Apps > Shopify Flow
Import the Flow file
Configure timing to match your editing deadline (e.g., 30 minutes)
Activate the Flow
Save
Step 3: Disable Unsupported App Blocks
Critical: Apparel21 has extensive limitations. You must disable most Order Editing features to prevent customer confusion.
Features to Disable:
Navigate to App Blocks in Order Editing
Disable the following blocks:
Primary Upsell (product additions not supported)
Product Catalog (product additions not supported)
Product Quantities (quantity changes not supported)
Switch Product Variants (variant swaps not supported)
Shipping Methods (shipping upgrades not supported)
Post-Purchase Discount Codes (discount codes not supported)
Order Cancellations (product removal not supported)
Enable Order Downgrade setting to OFF (prevents product removal)
Click Save
Supported Features (Limited)
Apparel21 only supports the following Order Editing features:
Shipping Address Changes
Customers can update their shipping address during the editing window.
Downloadable Invoices
Customers can download updated invoices reflecting their changes.
Contact Information Updates
Customers can update their contact details (email, phone number).
NOT Supported Features
The following features do not work with Apparel21:
Product Removal
Product Addition (upsells)
Shipping Method Updates/Upgrades
Discount Code Applications
Variant Swaps (changing size, color, etc.)
Quantity Changes
Testing
Test before going live:
Place test order
Verify order doesn't appear in Apparel21 immediately
Test supported features:
Change shipping address
Update contact information
Download invoice
Verify unsupported features are disabled:
Confirm customers cannot add/remove products
Verify quantity changes are blocked
Check variant swaps are disabled
Ensure shipping method changes are blocked
Wait for editing period to expire
Confirm order appears in Apparel21 with address/contact updates
Troubleshooting
Orders appearing in Apparel21 too early: Verify payment capture setting and Flow activation
Orders not appearing after grace period: Check Flow is capturing payment correctly
Customers seeing unsupported features: Double-check all unsupported App Blocks are disabled
Address changes not reflecting: Ensure edits were completed before grace period ended
