What is the Discount Codes Setting?

The Discount Codes setting allows Order Editing to recognise and apply discount codes that customers use when editing their orders. When enabled, the app correctly calculates order totals when customers add or apply discount codes during the editing window.

What This Setting Does

When enabled, Order Editing can process discount codes that you've created in your Shopify store, ensuring accurate order values and totals when customers edit their orders.

Important clarification: This setting does NOT allow Order Editing to create new discount codes, but will enable the app to work with discount codes you've already created in your Shopify admin.

However, in the case of Tax Recalculation, Order Editing will create a discount code with the given amount required to recalculate.

Why Enable This Setting?

Enabling Discount Codes ensures:

• Accurate order totals - The cart value reflects any discounts applied

• Customer flexibility - Customers can use promotional codes when adding items post-purchase

• Seamless experience - Discounts work the same way during editing as they do at checkout

• Store integration - Understand your stores discounting and any gift with purchase promotions in place.

How to Enable Discount Codes

1. Navigate to Settings in your Order Editing dashboard

2. Scroll to the Discount Codes section

3. Grant Permission

4. Toggle "Enable Discount Codes" to ON

5. Click Save

Note: This setting must be manually enabled. It is not turned on by default.
